Sachs This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Jess K Foglesong who was born in Kona, Hawaii on June 23, 1945 and moved on, on September 24, 2017. Jess was born in Kona, Hawaii in 1945, and with agreement with his parents to be raised by his grandparents (as was the tradition in Hawaiian culture, to keep the family close). Therefore was raised and lived with his grandpa (he called him "Papa"), Moses Kalele, till the age of 12, when his parents and family decided to move everyone to San Rafael, Ca. due to the death of his father's father, to care for his mother. Jess had a choice to stay with his grandpa, but decided to go with the family to California in 1956.
Jess had a little trouble adjusting to a new life in San Rafael at age 12, but eventually grew to like mainland living and went on to Junior High, High School, then to College. He entered the United States Air Force in 1966, where he joined the AF's K9 Corp and soon was deployed to Vietnam. Jess returned home in 1970 where he soon married (Christine) and raised 3 children (Kevin, Lisa and Trisha). Jess worked in the Postal Service, and later entered the Fire Service at Cotati Fire Protection District, where the family lived. Unfortunately there was a divorce (1986) and Jess became single for a short while. He met Sandra in 1988 and they were married, but unfortunately that did not work out (1991); so Jess became single again for 10 years.
Meanwhile he retired from the Fire Service and began working as an Activities Director/Coordinator for Senior Independent Living Communities and Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facilities, at the same time worked for the Santa Rosa Junior College as a Adjunct Special Education Instructor through (1992 -- 2010). During that time Jess met Karen (via Match.com) in 2001 and after two months, they tied the knot in December of 2001. Jess and Karen lived in Napa with her family while Jess worked for the College until 2010 when he went on his own, starting a Business called "Nostalgic Golden Melodies" (Jess visited, on a weekly basis, several Senior Living or Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing communities with Vocals and Guitar, musical programs). Jess and Karen moved to Cordelia in 2006, and Jess commuted from there to his work (Sonoma and Napa Counties) to do musical programs.
Finally in 2012, Jess and Karen moved back to Napa City and soon bought a Home at Napa Valley Manor MH Park and both have lived there since. Jess continued his musical business but added to the title: "Nostalgic Golden Melodies and Gospels" due to the fact that in 2008 Jess became an "Ordained Minister" and started an online Church called: "TouchedbyGodchurch.com" and "Touched by God Church World Ministries" on Facebook.
Jess enjoyed life no matter what the circumstances! He always had a positive outlook .... respected all people, no matter where you are from. He was a deep and stern believer in God, the Christ Jesus ... and the Gospel of Christ. And because of his "calling" he became ordained in the church and decided to put his thoughts about God and the true Gospel of His Grace in 5 books, including his last one called: God: Spirit, Divine, Energy, Light! All available on Amazon and all online bookstores.
Jess preached online through videos, posted on the church website (touchedbyGodchurch.com) and posted a Sunday Sermon evey Sunday.
